Media – Higher
Higher Media would be suitable for 5th and 6th Year pupils who would like to develop their knowledge of Production, analysis of screenplays and films.
During the course, students will develop analytical, evaluative and research skills, which are transferable to many other subject areas and are essential for study in Higher Education.
There is an examination at the end of this course. The two hour paper is in May 2011.
Entry Requirements
Pupils should normally have Standard Grade English at Credit level (1 or 2) or Intermediate 2 English at A or B.
Attendance Pattern
August to June
Tuesday and Thursday 2pm to 4pm.
The course may be delivered on outreach by negotiation, or may involve students infilling into college classes. A minimum of 4 hours per week is required.
Progression
HNC/D Communication with Media or Journalism.
Degree courses in Media, Arts and Social Sciences or Communications.
