NPA Cosmetology
This course is an SQA National Progression Award.
This course provides a broad introduction to beauty. The focus is on learning salon skills and customer care. Specific skills include cleansing, toning, moisturizing, file and polishing techniques for nails and current make-up trends. You will have the opportunity to build a portfolio with make-up looks. You also have the opportunity to assist therapists in the Cardonald College Beauty Salon at intervals throughout the year. As well as the practical aspects of the course students will be expected to be assessed on, and complete, the theory modules for underpinning knowledge in the subject area.

This course is delivered on outreach in Castlemilk Secondary schools in conjunction with the Introduction to Holistic Therapies course.

Monday 9am to 10.40am
Tuesday 2.05pm to 3.45pm
Thursday 9am to 10.40am
Progression
This course may assist candidates who wish to gain employment in the Hairdressing and Beauty sectors. It is also suitable for those pupils who wish to progress to further study in these areas at a Further Education College.
