Course Description
This course is a springboard into work in television. It is taught by industry professionals using broadcast-standard kit and it is constantly updated to reflect developments in technology and working practice.
Students in 1st year focus on technical skills including camera, editing and sound recording, and build a portfolio of practical projects.
In 2nd year, you will study advanced camera or edit, develop and produce factual and drama projects, and create a showreel highlighting your practical skills.
The College's TV staff have excellent links with the industry and are part of the Skillset Media Academy Network and Creative Loop.

Entry Requirements
- NQ Television, Photography and Film.
- At least one Higher (or equivalent), English is preferred.
- Evidence of a commitment to programme making through showreel material, relevant work experience, programme ideas or similar.
- Enthusiasm, creativity and team-working skills are essential.
Progression Routes
- 3rd year entry to Broadcast Production of Film-Making and Screenwriting at University of the West of Scotland.
- 2nd or 3rd year entry to various film and TV courses at university.
- Employment in the TV or film industry - Graduates of this course have found work with BBC Scotland, Endemol and many other independent companies.
