Course Description
This NAP course allowes student to play in a sports environment at SCQF Level 6 and gives students the skill, expertise and relevant vocational qualifications to work within the Leisure Industry, as well as the underpinning knowledge required to progress onto the HND Sports Coaching with the Development of Sport Programme.

Subjects Include
The course consists of Intermediate 2/Higher units which cover a range of practical and theoretical sports related units. Units can include: Athletics, Volleyball, Hockey, Football, Basic Sports Coaching Techniques, Resistance Training, Human Physiology. A programme of teambuilding and leadership skills is undertaken along with higher Communications and Intermediate 2 Information Technology,First Aid certificate, National Governing Body Sports awards, and a coaching placement.
Fees & Funding
There are no course fees for full-time UK/EU students. All full-time students are invited to apply for means tested bursary funding to cover living, travel and course expenses. It also provides successful students the opportunity to progress onto the HNC/D Sports Coaching with Development of Sport course.
Entry Requirements
- At least 3 Intermediate 2 passes or equivalent Standard Grades - one of which must be English based.
- 2 suitable references required.
- An interview is part of the selection process.
