Course Description
This course aims to give you a general overview of various aspects of home maintenance and a clearer understanding of what is required to carry out home improvements safely.
Topics covered will include safe use of basic hand tools, basic timber and joinery joints, small carpentry and joinery activities, nails, screws and fixings. You will also learn about ceramic wall tiling and fixing fitments to tiles, how to sort taps that leak, sinks and toilets that are blocked and cisterns that won't flush.
An understanding of basic central heating systems will also be discussed as well as how to safely take a radiator off a wall.
The classes will be a mixture of discussion and practical work.
All materials are included in the course fee.
Please note that this course it not eligible for ILA funding.
