Course Description
This course is designed to suit people with little or no experience in design or creative embroidery. It has been prepared for distance learning by tutors who have experience of teaching City & Guilds.
Subjects Include
The course is divided into eight units: Units 1, 2 and 3: Introduction to Basic Stitches and how to use them creatively, the colour wheel and applying colour to fabric, basic quilting and applique techniques, basic design development; Unit 4 shows various ways to create borders, edges and trimmings; Unit 5: make an item, ie. cushion with a decorative panel; Units 6 & 7: explore machine embroidery techniques and fabric manipulation; Unit 8: design and make an item, e.g. a bag using machine embroidery techniques.
Cost
Unit Cost £60 (total cost £480). If preferred, full payment of £480 can be made in three instalments.
On receipt of payment you will receive the first pack and be allocated your personal tutor. You will be encouraged to contact your tutor by phone or e-mail at allotted times on a weekly basis. At some point throughout the course you are required to attend college to meet your tutor and other students.
Fee includes postage to student, total support and written assessments.
