Course Description
The aim of this two year course is to enable students to develop knowledge, skills, attitudes and values to support being an active citizen. Students learn together by planning, organising and taking part in activities together as a group. The course runs three days a week over two years.
Subjects include
The course will be made up of the following:
- Enterprise Activity - take part in activities to contribute to a chosen charity
- Investigating Citizenship - through visits and practical activities, learn about citizenship, rights and responsibilities, and different cultures and groups in society
- Drama and confidence-building - help with speech and conversation, confidence building, interpersonal skills, and skills for citizenship
- Social and citizenship cookery - cook and serve food for friends, family and others
- Optional subjects - choose from a variety of activities on offer
- Optional social evening activity once a month
