Course Description
This course covers all the basics of computing and can act as a stepping stone to HND Technical Support or Software Development. Students can study at their own pace, therefore can complete the qualification over a shorter or a longer period of time (max 2 years). They will study using our online learning system so will need access to a computer with Internet. There will be some online and some in college assessment, which can be scheduled to individual needs. Tutor support and drop in classes will be available.
Subjects include IT Application, Computer Operating Systems, Planning, Project Management, Multi User Operating Systems.

Entry Requirements
1 Higher and 1 Intermediate 2 from Maths, Computing, Information Systems and English or Science subjects.
NQ Information Technology.
Applications are welcome from those without formal entry qualifications but with relevant work experience.
Progression Routes
Formal articulation agreement with 2nd year entry to University of West of Scotland.
Employment as a software engineer or systems developer.
