Course Description
This programme will run for 16 weeks, 5 days a week with an early finish 2 days per week.
Course content
The emphasis will be on employability skills: timekeeping, working with peers and supervisors, application to work, flexibility and adaptability being reinforced in the course. The course will help prepare students for industry entry tests. Students will study:
- Workshop safety
- Wet Trade Skills
- Site Carpentry and Bench Joinery
- Bench Joinery
- CSCS Prep and Test
- ConstructionSkills (CITB) Preparation for industry entrance test.
Entry Requirements
You must demonstrate a willingness to learn. You must be in S5 and eligible to leave school in December 2011 and must be 16 years old or will turn 16 years old before the end of February 2012.
Please note that your application must be supported by a letter of permission from your school and your parent or guardian, plus a reference from your school.
