Course Description

This programme aims to prepare young people for employment. It is suitable for young people who have the potential for employment and have reached the stage of being able to cope in the workplace several days per week. It is an appropriate progression route for students who have completed the Learning for Work programme but it is not essential to have done so.

The programme includes three days per week job training in placements relevant to the programme. When in college, the trainees continue to work on the skills required in the workplace.

Each course has an element of choices as well as the core subjects, and students have ongoing extensive use of the community through trips and visits.

Entry Requirements

Informal interview and assessment.

All applicants must submit a Confidential Report.

The report should be completed by someone who knows the applicant well eg a Guidance teacher. Email the completed forms to:

Progression Routes

Students can move into employment or other college courses.
