Course Description
Learn the basic principles of planning and managing an allotment or a fruit and vegetable garden at home. The course will be a mixture of theory sessions at Cardonald College and practical sessions at Pollok Country Park. Topics for the January course will include soil management and cultivation, nutrition and fertility, crop rotation, organic gardening, composting/recycling, crop protection, fruits, brassicas, root crops, as well as peas, beans and other crops.
In the April course protection from pests, cultivation of salad crops and soft fruits, cucumbers, peppers, courgettes and use of the greenhouse & cold frames will also be discussed.
At Cardonald College on Thursday 7-9pm for 6 evenings
At Pollok Country Park on Saturdays 10am - 12pm: 4 Saturdays
