Why Cardonald?
Cardonald College Glasgow is highly regarded in the field of Supported Learning and the teaching staff in this section are highly experienced. All students receive personalised guidance and support and will be given practical help with post-course choices.
Additional Support is given at breaks and lunchtime, and the Personal Learning and Support Plan mean that student's learning is tailored to suit their needs and goals.
Each course has an element of choices as well as the core subjects, and students have ongoing extensive use of the community through trips and visits.
Entry Requirements
There are no specific entry requirements but applicants must be prepared to study independently at a minimum of SCQF Level 3 and have the potential to do so at levels 4 and 5.
Acceptance on to the course is subject to a successful pre-entry interview. The course is particularly suitable for students who would find the pace and timetabling of mainstream classes difficult to maintain.
The course is suitable for students aged 16-20, although in some circumstances young people under 16 may be accepted.
All applicants must submit a Confidential Report. The report should be completed by someone the applicant knows well eg a guidance teacher.
Completed forms should be emailed to centraladmissions@cardonald.ac.uk
Progression Routes
The course will help students prepare to apply for entry onto mainstream courses at Cardonald and other colleges. Students will be supported in this process and assisted to prepare for interviews.
