Course Description

This course will consist of an introductory element to safety, practical woodwork, fabrication and wet trade skills. This will be followed by a number of SQA units which will equate to the NPA Group Award.

  • Carpentry and Joinery: An Introduction
  • Bench Joinery Skills
  • Half Brick Walling
  • Preparing and Painting Surfaces
  • Wall and Floor Tiling

Entry Requirements

Completion of mandatory school education with a practical subject e.g. Woodwork, practical craft skills, skills for work.

Progression Routes

Acheivement of the Group Award will allow candidates to progress onto the NC Built Environment Course (subject to college approval).
