Course Description

This course is for those involved in key training activities in the workplace. This award is made up of 8 units; 3 mandatory units and 3 sets of optional units.

Course Content

 

There are four sections in this award, one mandatory section and three optional sections:

Mandatory Units.  Candidates must complete the following three units:

  • Plan and prepare learning and development programmes
  • Evaluate and improve learning and development programmes
  • Reflect on, develop and maintain own skills and practice in learning and development

Optional Set One.  Candidates must complete between 1 and 2 units

  • Identify individuals' learning and development needs
  • Identify collective learning and development needs

Optional Set Two.  Candidates must complete between 1 and 4 units

  • Develop and prepare resources for learning and development
  • Manage learning and development in groups
  • Facilitate individual learning and development
  • Engage and support learners in the learning and development process
  • Assess workplace competence using direct and indirect methods
  • Internally monitor and maintain the progress and quality of workplace assessment

Optional Set Three.  Candidates must complete between 0 and 2 units

  • Develop and implement operational plans for your area of responsibility
  • Provide leadership in your area of responsibility
  • Promote equality of opportunity, diversity and inclusion in our area of responsibility
  • Encourage innovation in your area of responsibility
  • Develop productive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Allocate and monitor the progress and quality of work in your area of responsibility
  • Build and manage teams
  • Manage finance for your area of responsibility
  • Manage quality systems

Course Duration & Dates

 

The course is a combination of workshops, individual tutorials and observation of practice.  The Introductory sessions are 01.30 - 4.30 on the following dates:

26/03/2012

Course duration depends on the candidate - usually between 3-9 months
