Course Description

Cardonald College Glasgow is an accredited Cisco Local Networking Academy, providing training to students wishing to become Cisco Certified Networking Associates (CCNA).

This qualification is ideal for anyone who currently works in the I.T. industry and wants to advance their career or gain professional certification. It is also suitable for students with a flair for problem solving who would like to enter a career in the I.T. industry. Relevant career roles include Network Technician, Network Administrator and Network Engineer. The four semester courses provide students with classroom and laboratory experience in current and emerging networking technology. Classes take place on a Tuesday or Thursday evening.

Cost

£300 per semester (books and tests are charged separately).

Not only is Cardonald College Glasgow the Microsoft Lead Academy for Scotland but the staff have been trained to the highest standards and have a wealth of industrial experience. This means that the Computing section can offer a number of vendor qualifications that can be embedded in our NC/HN programmes but also that students have the opportunity to study these courses alongside their chosen programmes. We are also a testing centre which means that all testing and assessment processes can be carried out in the one location. The College has recently been refurbished and the equipment and accommodation is of the highest standard.

Entry Requirements

No prior knowledge of computers or networks is required although basic computer literacy and a general knowledge of the Internet would be advantageous.
