Course Description
Provides the opportunity to acquire advanced IT skills essential for employment in today's administrative environment. Plenty of opportunity will be provided to develop interpersonal skills, which feature prominently in employers' requirements. Successful completion of year one allows leavers to gain an HNC. Students will use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access) in well-equipped specialist rooms.

Subjects Include
The HNC will cover Spreadsheets, Databases, Internet, Word Processing, Law, Office Technologies and Accounts. In second year IT/Word Processing skills will be extended to an advanced level. The HND will cover all of the above as well as Marketing, Human Resource Management, Office and Project Management, Work Experience, SAGE and Business Culture & Strategy.

Entry Requirements
- Two appropriate Highers and a word processing qualification.
- NQ Administration with Intermediate 2 Administration at Grade B or above and Intermediate 2 English or equivalent.
- Applications are welcome from those without formal qualifications but with relevant life/work experience.
- An interview is part of the selection process.
Progression Routes
- 3rd year entry to various degree courses at University of the West of Scotland, Glasgow Caledonian University and to other UK universities.
- Employment in an office environment.
