Course Description

This one year foundation course will provide you with the opportunity to explore Ceramics, Jewellery and Textiles. It is a unique programme of units giving basic skills in working with clay, decoration and firing.

The units are project-based with a research project selected by the student in a preferred discipline.

SCQF Level

5 to 6

Subjects Include

An introduction to design and production of jewellery, exporation of surfaced-based decoration, machine embroidery and the manipulation of fabrics and stitched textiles.

Entry Requirements

  • 4 Standard Grades or equivalent job related experience.
  • All prospective students should also provide a portfolio demonstrating an ability to work through the art and design process. 

Progression Routes

HND courses at Cardonald including Fashion Design, Jewellery and Textiles and equivalent Degree Courses.
