Inter College Golf Tournament

Cardonald golfers retained the championship title at the annual inter-college golf tournament recently.Twenty one colleges and 120 entrants from across the country took part in the event at Prestwick St Nicholas Golf Club.
Cardonald Principal, Susan Walsh presented the prize to the winning team comprising of Jim Woolfries, Eddie Thomson and Ian MacIntyre. Jim Woolfries completed a double for the College with the best Scratch score. On winning the tournament Ian MacIntyre stated: “The tournament was a great event. Even though the weather was terrible, we kept our focus and managed to shoot the best score. Thanks to Susan Gough for organising the event, to all the other colleges for taking part and to Jim Woolfries for playing out of his skin!”
Special mentions also to Ian Patrick from Perth College who had the best handicap score and Lorna Jenkins from West Lothian College who was the best female player.
Tournament organiser, Susan Gough added: “I would like to thank all the competitors for their good humour and determination to play in atrocious conditions. We look forward to seeing you all again next year.”
