Two Cardonald HND Television students participated in Glasgow's first BarCamp at STV studios in June.
BarCamp is an international network whose content is provided by participants.
The aim of BarCamp 2010 is to share best practice within digital communications and provide a strategic platform to engage a broad audience of decision makers, opinion formers and professionals.The event was launched by Arvind Salwan of communications consultancy New Media Corp, in conjunction with Interactive Scotland. Participants included STV, Mediacom, Spotify, Realtime Worlds, Whitespace and Innovation Digital.
Cardonald students Stephen Sinclair and Neil Dallimore recorded presentations at the event including ‘One Giant Leap into Self-Publishing' by Realtime Worlds Studio Manager, Colin MacDonald. Realtime Worlds are behind some of the world's most successful computer games including Lemmings and Grand Theft Auto and are now moving into self-publishing.

Mr Salwan, organiser of the event stated: "BarCamp gives agencies, clients, developers, programmers, designers and other professionals a chance to get together to create and share ideas. It's a really exciting opportunity for anyone involved in digital media."
He also welcomed the partnership with Cardonald College Glasgow and the Creative Loop Skillset Media Academy in filming and helping to raise the profile of the event. There are plans for further collaboration in the coming year, helping to cement Cardonald and Creative Loop's place at the heart of the digital media sector.
