Praise for Cardonald's pre-apprentices
30 May 2012
Loyal customer, Director of John McNichol & Company, Derek Grindlay has taken the time to write a letter personally thanking Cardonald for our support and guidance for the recruitment of apprentices for his company.
Every year, Mr Grindlay recruits electrical apprentices from Cardonald's Pre-Apprenticeship Electrical Installation course since its introduction 10 years ago.
In the letter, Mr Grindlay writes: "Once again, I would like to say thank you to the staff at Cardonald College Glasgow for the very warm welcome I received recently when I attended the College to interview prospective apprentices for John McNicol & Co.
"In particular, I would like to say thank you to Cardonald lecturers Davie Garden and Harry Smith for consistently turning out excellent candidates.
"I was very impressed by the great attitude, enthusiasm and manners of all the candidates I interviewed - I would have employed at least four more if I could have".
The Pre-Apprenticeship Electrical Installation course was initially piloted by Cardonald College Glasgow in the 1990s in conjunction with the Scottish Electrical Charitable Trust (SECTT) and has continued to go from strength-to-strength over the years.
Over the years, electrical engineering/contractor companies across Scotland and Northern Ireland have benefited from recruiting via Cardonald's Pre- Apprenticeship Electrical Installation course and this feedback is a testament to its success.
