Praise for Creative Cardonald

One of Scotland's most exciting fashion designers has paid tribute to Creative Cardonald after returning from a highly-successful business trip to the USA.Iona Crawford, who is based in The Incubator Hub at Cardonald College Glasgow, not only enhanced her growing international reputation as a designer, she also returned with a lucrative international contract.
The 26-year-old, originally from Stirling but now Glasgow-based, said: "Creative Cardonald have played a major role in my recent success. Without their assistance I may never have had the opportunity to realise recent business endeavours."
Funding from Creative Cardonald enabled Iona to fly to New York for a week long business trip at the end of March. While there the launch of her Autumn/Winter 2012 collection closed the Scotland With Love Catwalk Show to rave reviews. During her visit Iona met with representatives of Shri Lakshmi, India's third largest suppliers of soft home furnishings.Negotiations between the two continued on her return to Scotland and last week official contracts were signed.
The deal means that Iona's designs will be marketed by Shri Lakshmi in retail outlets across the United States, Canada, the UK and India.
Iona added: "I'm very excited at this tie-up, made possible as a result of my recent business trip to New York. I can't thank Dr Alex McCluskey and the team at Creative Cardonald enough for making that possible."
