Early Education & Childcare - Intermediate 2

This course will increase your awareness of the factors that impact on the lives of children, their parents and carers and provide an insight into working in early education and childcare.  Each unit will inform and enhance your understanding of what can be considered as effective early education and childcare provision.  You will develop key life, presentation and self-evaluation skills.

Course units

·         Child Development and Health

·         Working in Early Education and Childcare

·         Parenting

·         Care and Feeding of Children 

·         First Aid

This is a four credit course, at Intermediate 1 level, comprising of four Units at one credit each.  The course comprises of three mandatory units and one optional unit. It is a national course but is internally assessed.

Entry Requirements

It is envisaged that students will be working at Intermediate 2 level prior to the commencement of the course.

Attendance Patterns

Classes can run on any afternoon from 1.30pm to 4pm over a two year period or two afternoons per week over one year.
