Early Education & Childcare - Intermediate 1

This course aims to introduce pupils to the factors which impact on the lives of children, their parents and carers.  It provides a basic insight into working in early education and childcare and introduces pupils to the necessity of viewing all aspects of early education and childcare holistically.

On the course, pupils will develop key life and communication skills by working in groups and with others in a variety of contexts.  Pupils will also develop investigative skills by using a variety of research methods and develop presentation and self-evaluation skills.

Entry requirements

It is envisaged that students will be working at Intermediate 1 level prior to the commencement of the course.

Attendance Pattern

Monday, Tuesday or Thursday 1.30pm to 4pm over a two year period or could run two afternoons per week over one year.
