Andrey Karpov - Former HND Networking Student
1 Feb 2008
Andrey, who is originally from Chelyabinsk, Russian, recently finished studying HND Networking and Internet Technologies at the College. The course is offered on a full-time and part-time basis and on successful completion students may be able to progress to Paisley University and Glasgow Caledonian University to study a Degree in Networking.
Andrey moved to Glasgow in August 2005, and first came to Cardonald College in January 2006 to study Introduction to Electronics and Computer Hardware. After completing the course he moved on to the HND.
When asked about his course, Andrey said: “I chose both courses because there are good career prospects in networking and computing. I enjoyed coming to Cardonald so much that I recently took up a role working in the College's ICT department."
Andrey lives in Cardonald with his wife and three children, and while he is working his daughter, who is almost three, attends the College’s Children’s Centre.
Commenting Andrey said: “I feel very safe having her so close by; I can even pop over during breaks and at lunch time to see her. She really enjoys nursery and loves being with the other children.”
