Alan McLauchlan, Former HND Electronics student
Alan studied at Cardonald College after working in stock control for several years.
“I felt my job in stock control presented no real challenges and I had limited prospects. I had always had an interest in engineering and decided to take the plunge and become a full-time student. It was tough to begin with, but I liked the courses mixture of practical and theory work.
“I passed the HND and then progressed to BEng (Hons) at Glasgow Caledonian University. I’m so glad I returned to education as I feel I have a bright future in the Electronic Engineering Industry.”

“Doing the HND in Electronics really prepared me well for my degree and all the practical skills I learned came into their own with the servicing aspects of the job. I’m glad I did an NC and HND in Electronics first though.”
