Kashif Ishfaq - Former Admin and IT student

23 Sep 2008

Former Cardonald College student Kashif Ishfaq is great example of how college can be an alternative route to university.

Kashif first joined the College as an NQ Legal Administration student in 2003; this one year NQ course is aimed at people like Kashif who have four or more standard grades or have relevant life experience. On successful competition of the NQ, Kashif progressed on to a two year HND in Administration and Information Management. During this time, Kashif also studied for a Professional Development Award Legal Studies.

On successful completion of his HND, Kashif, along with classmates John Gaughan and Aisha Ahmad, joined Caledonian University’s BA Electronic Business. Depending on the degree course, an HND can lead directly into 1st, 2nd or, like Kashif and his classmates, into 3rd year.

In June, all three former Cardonald students successful gained a BA (Hons) in Electronic Business. Kashif and Aisha were the only two student to gain a first class honours degree, while John gained a 2.1. In addition, Kashif received the Top Student Award for his year for his dissertation was on Website Accessibility.
